Maxwell Henry Walker

Maxwell Henry Walker was born September 8, 1934, in a farmhouse near Mountain View, Missouri, to Earl T. and Grace M. Walker. He departed this life on August 20, 2024, at his home in Cabool, Missouri, 19 days before what would have been his 90th birthday.
He was a charter member of the Walker Chapel Church of the Nazarene. He formally joined on June 20, 1951. He helped construct the new church when they moved to Mountain View.
He rejoined the church when he moved to Cabool, which allowed him to be close to home and his church.
Throughout his lifetime he owned several small businesses near Mountain View, he taught a group of boys at Liberty High School the basics of carpentry by building a home, and finally, he co-owned Ramax Wood Products located east of Mountain View.
Max graduated from Mountain View High School in Mountain View, Missouri, in 1953. He joined the Navy in September 1954 and served in action and then the Reserves until September 1962. He crossed the Equator in 1958, becoming a shellback. He served on the USS Frontier.
Max was united in marriage to Carolyn "Kay" Bay on August 1, 1959, in Jack Walker's residence in Mountain View and recently celebrated their 65th anniversary. To this union two daughters were born, Deanna Renee Wouk, and Rebecca Lynn Walker. Then two sons were born, William Alan and Martin Shane Walker.
He is survived by his wife, Kay; two sons, Bill and Martin Walker; son-in-law, Mark Wouk; five grandchildren, Katie, Jennifer, Lucas, Ashlyn, and Olivia; five step-grandchildren, Justin, Amanda, Ashleigh, and Tyler, Kaeden; two great-grandchildren, Sophia and Elijah; brother, Paul; and sister-in-law, Kay Bay.
Max was preceded in death by his two daughters, Deanna and Rebecca; mother and father, Earl and Grace Walker; in-laws, Loyd and Mary Bay; eight siblings, Don (Ruth), Mary (Elmer) Wells, Phyllus (Buster) Easton, Doyne (Monk) Smith, Bill (Lula Fay), Jack (Lola), Irene (Carroll) Hansen, Leon (Ozella), and Millie Walker; and eleven of his brothers and sisters-in-law, ten of their spouses, and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 1, 2024, at the Church of the Nazarene in Mountain View, Missouri, with Pastor Brad Strosnider officiating.
