Mayda Suarez Sanchez Canto Obituary
Mayda was raised in Cuba before coming to the United States in 1967. She later graduated from Mt. Prospect High School in Illinois and moved to Miami, Florida, where in her early thirties, she met and married Camillo Thomas "Tommy" Canto and she built her life and family with him.
Known for her warm smile and generous heart, Mayda loved feeding anyone who crossed her path. She was strong, determined, and a true fighter. She adored animals and always dreamed of having her own small farm.
She is survived by her sister: Sonia M. Sanchez; her daughters: Erika T. Canto, Rebeka C. Canto, and Cassandra M. Canto; and her four grandchildren: Jason, Aiden, Emilee, and Audrey.
We would enjoy for you to join us in A Celebration of Life for Mayda January 9th, 2026 at The Golden Age Center beginning at 3:00 p.m.
