Lee's Summit, Missouri - Maynard Duane Martin of Wichita, passed away peacefully at John Knox Care Center, June 11, 2024. He was born May 19th, 1937 to Maynard and Evelyn Martin of Delavan, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two wonderful wives, Barbara Ann Martin and Jane Nelson-Martin, daughter, Linda Longhofer, brother, David Martin, and sister, Roberta Martin. Duane spent most of his life as a resident of Wichita and retired from printing. He was blessed to have shared his life with two women, marrying Barabara Ann on June 8th, 1957 and remarrying after her death to Jane on Feb 16th, 2002. His passions were music, traveling the United States, scrapbooking and spreading the word of the gospel. He was a member of Central Community Church. He is survived by his children, Cheryl Martin, and Phil (Angie) Martin. His sister, Rosie Smith. His grandchildren include Robert, Benjamin and Karissa Martin and Andrew and Adam Longhofer. Duane also considered Jacquie (Rodney) Brockhoff, Melissa (Oliver) Youniss, and Scott (Pam) Krasuski as his children as well as their children as grandchildren. He also loved Karlie (Kainon) Clark and Madelyne (Toree Sacco) Besendorfer as his grandchildren, and Bonnie Clark as his great grandchild.
Viewing will be at Broadway Mortuary on Tuesday, June 18th, from 6pm to 8pm.
Graveside service will be at the Clearwater Cemetery, on Wednesday, June 19th, starting at 10am.
