Mee Oi Lee Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cypress Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park on Dec. 9, 2025.
Mee Oi Lee, aged 96, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2025, at 7:30 a.m. PT. She was known for her kindness, resilience, and the love she shared so generously with her family throughout her long life. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Mee Oi was born on July 20, 1929, in Taishan, China. In 1950, she married Shek Kiu Lee, with whom she built a loving family and a lifetime of cherished memories. He passed away on May 21, 2023, and she will be laid to rest beside him.

In 1965, Mee Oi courageously immigrated with her family to New York, where she created a warm and nurturing home grounded in hard work and love. There, she raised her three children, watched them graduate from university, celebrated their marriages, and welcomed her first grandchildren. Living just down the block from her younger sister and her family, she thrived within a close-knit community that truly embodied the spirit of "it takes a village."

After moving to San Francisco in 1993, she embraced her new surroundings and found joy in the simple pleasures of daily life. She loved taking long walks in Golden Gate Park and feeding the ducks-quiet moments of peace that became part of her cherished routine. In recent years, she was a regular visitor at the Self-Help for the Elderly Jackie Chan Senior Center, where she enjoyed friendship, activities, and connection.

At home, Mee Oi was devoted to her family. She found happiness in cooking for those she loved, tending to her garden, sewing, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her warmth, strength, and steady presence created a deep sense of comfort and belonging for everyone around her.

Mee Oi is survived by her children Anna (husband Raymond) and Paul (wife Alice), and by Susan, the wife of her late son Richard. She leaves behind seven grandchildren-Michelle, Christopher, Ryan, Phillip, Brandon, Sabrina, and William-and five great-grandchildren: Maggie, Ethan, Riley, Hunter, and Evelyn, all of whom brought her immense joy and pride.

Services will be held privately with her immediate family.
