Mei-hwa Strotman

Mei-Hwa Strotman, 70, was born on November 2, 1954, in Nantou County, Taiwan to Wen-Wang Chang and Ai-Mei Hu, and entered eternal rest on February 16, 2025, in Pasadena, California.
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mei-Hwa, a woman whose kindness, warmth, and generosity touched the lives of all who knew her. Mei-Hwa was a loving and outgoing person, always making friends wherever she went. Her heart was as big as her spirit, and she will be remembered for her deep compassion and the joy she brought to others.
In her early years, Mei-Hwa was a dedicated athlete, competing in multiple track and field events and earning numerous awards in high school. She was passionate about life, and that passion carried her through many of its adventures. After marrying the love of her life, Robert, Mei-Hwa, and her family lived in various countries, including Taiwan, China, and the United States, due to Robert's work. These travels helped shape a life full of rich experiences, and together they raised two sons, Yi-Fan and Joseph.
Mei-Hwa had a lifelong love of gardening, and her garden was a source of pride, producing an abundance of fruits and vegetables that were admired and enjoyed by her neighbors. Her nurturing nature extended beyond her garden, as she took great joy in caring for her grandchildren, playing an integral role in their lives.
Her faith was at the core of who she was, and Mei-Hwa was deeply involved in her Catholic church community, always participating in various functions and supporting those in need.
Mei-Hwa's legacy of love, kindness, and faith will live on in the hearts of her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be greatly missed but forever cherished.
Mei-Hwa is survived by her loving family: Sons, Yi-Fan Chu of Cebu, Philippines, and Joseph Strotman (Chantel Tanuvasa-Strotman) of Hacienda Heights, Grandchildren, Ethan Chu and Ikaika Strotman, Siblings, Mei-Hsiang Chang (Da-Mao Chang) of Kaohsiung, Taiwan and Shun-Fu Chang (Chun-Mei Tang) of Nantou, Taiwan, along with numerous Nieces, Nephews, Grand Nieces, and Grand Nephews. Mei-Hwa will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mei-Hwa was reunited at the Gates of Heaven by her Husband, Robert Henry Strotman, Parents, Ai-Mei Hu and Wen-Wang Chang, and Brother, Shun-Rong Chang.
