Mel was my neighbor. Her door faced my door in our building's hallway. My heart is truly sore over her loss and each time I walk out my door, I am reminded of what is missing now. The thing that stood out to me was how immensely she loved. She held so much fierceness within her. Her memory is carried on by the beautiful kiddos she brought into this world. I am going to miss her (and the little notes she left all around our building, even the ones about the laundry room). We bonded over how much we both love Halloween and decorating. I am so mad at myself that I don't have the pumpkin table cover you bought me anymore to treasure forever. I couldn't be more sorry that I missed out on my last opportunity to have a good conversation with you Mel. The world is less bright without you.
