Melanie Hilliard Quick, 61, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026. Born, March 20, 1964, in Cheraw, SC, she was the daughter of Dewitt Hilliard and the late Eugenia McPherson Hilliard.
A devoted member of Westside Baptist Church during her teenage years, Melanie embraced her faith through baptism and active participation in church activities. Throughout her career, she worked alongside her mother at Hardee's in her early years and later found fulfillment in the textile, home healthcare, and freight delivery industries. Melanie had a passion for the outdoors, enjoying fishing, camping, and traveling. She also held a deep affection for animals, considering her dogs and cats as beloved members of her family.
Melanie was preceded in death by her mother, Eugenia McPherson Hilliard.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of more than 40 years, Billy Quick; her father, Dewitt Hilliard of Cheraw, SC; her brother, Craig Hilliard of Anderson, SC; a niece and nephew and several aunts and uncles.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Kiser Funeral Home in Cheraw, SC. A private committal will be in St. David’s Cemetery in Cheraw, SC.
Kiser Funeral Home has been entrusted to serve the Quick family in their time of grief.
