Melchizedek (Mel) Judah Fitzgerald, was born to Paul and Jacqueline Fitzgerald on July 19, 1994, in Ft. Riley, KS while his father served in the Army. He was the third child of six children born to them.
From a young age, he had a love for art and music that carried through to his adult years and he enjoyed traveling. Growing up as a child in a military family, he attended school in several states before graduating at John Hardin High School in Radcliff, KY.
Mel was baptized at age 12 in his family church, Lighthouse Ministries of the Apostolic Faith by his late father, Elder Paul N. Fitzgerald. He rededicated his life to the Lord while living in Kentucky. In 2015 he married Arleesha Moors and to their union was born a daughter, Amiyah Jackie Marie and a son, Zion Paul. He was passionate about his family and could always be relied upon by his siblings when called upon to help.
Melchizedek passed away at age 30 on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at his residence in St. Joseph, MO.
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Fitzgerald and his grandparents, Paul N. Fitzgerald Sr., Vivian Fitzgerald, Earl Pennington, and Easter Pennington.
Mel leaves behind a loving family; his mother, Jacqueline Stanfield (Trent); two children; Amiyah and Zion Fitzgerald, Arleesha Moore; five siblings, Ezekiel Fitzgerald, Corinthiah Fitzgerald, Shekinah Taylor (Mike), Hosanna Baptiste (Aaron), Caleb Fitzgerald (Desiree); along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, Friday, November 8, 2024 at First Baptist Church, Elizabethtown, KY.
Funeral services for Mr. Fitzgerald will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, November 8, 2024, at First Baptist Church, Elizabethtown, KY. with Reverend Harold Stone officiating. Burial will follow at North Hardin Memorial Gardens, Radcliff, KY.
