It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Melinda Buerky, 56, who left us on February 19, 2025, due to complications from the flu. She was surrounded by her loving family. Born on January 2, 1969 Melinda was a cherished wife, devoted mother, beloved Gigi, and a dear friend to many.
Melinda was known for her warm smile and her unwavering love for her family. Each morning, she could be found savoring her favorite cup of hot coffee, generously creamed, as she prepared for the day ahead. Her passion for life extended to the great outdoors, where she found joy tending to her horses, her donkeys, and her loyal big dog, Winston.
Traveling was another of Melinda's great loves. She and her husband, Darrell, shared countless adventures, with their most recent trip to Costa Rica being particularly meaningful; it was there that she was baptized in the Pacific Ocean, a beautiful testament to her faith and spirit.
Melinda leaves behind her devoted husband Darrell, her children; Jon (Alyssa) Watson, Taylor Watson; her stepchildren, Brooke Turley(Andrew), Taylor Buerky (Maddie); and her many adoring grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sisters and brothers. She is preceded in death by her mom, Mary Plack and father Ferdinand James Plack Sr.
Her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her, and she will be remembered for her kindness, her laughter, and the love she shared so freely.
In this time of sorrow, we celebrate the life of Melinda Buerky, a remarkable woman who touched the hearts of many and whose spirit will live on in the memories of her family and friends. She will be dearly missed.
