Melinda J. Roberts, 75, of Noblesville, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at her home in Noblesville following an extended illness.

She was born on August 14, 1948, in Noblesville, Indiana to Douglas and Jane (Kaiser) Owens. She was a 1966 graduate of Noblesville High School. She earned her bachelor's and master's degrees in education from IUPUI in Indianapolis.

She retired from Hamilton Southeastern School Corporation after 29 years as an elementary teacher. She was devoted to her family and especially loved being a grandmother.

Melinda was known and loved as much for her style, wit and sense of humor as she was for her humility, sense of purpose and her quiet strength.

Melinda is survived by her husband of 54 years, Ed Roberts; two daughters, Betsy Gutierrez and Sara (husband, Dean) VanDyke, both of Noblesville; six grandchildren, Benjamin, Zoe, Olive, Sasha, Finn and Fiona; a sister, Marilou Owens of Noblesville; and a myriad of cousins with whom she was very close throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, William Owens.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 9, 2024, at Bozell Funeral Homes, Lapel Chapel, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel, Indiana 46051 with Pastor Aaron Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Zimmer Cemetery in Noblesville.
