Melisa Zopp Obituary
(nee Borino, formerly Bernard) Found peace on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at the age of 46 after a short battle with cancer. She was born on March 1, 1977 in Aurora, IL. Beloved wife and best friend of Garrett Zopp. Loving mother of Parker Evan Zopp. Daughter of F. Bruce and Diane (Meier) Borino. Step-daughter of Cheryl Borino. Sister of Erica (Pat) Fisher, Cory (Ivy) Matthews, and Karinda Matthews. Proud Aunt of Kayla, Zachary, Tyler, Trevor, Blake, Tanner and Scarlett. Daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, niece, cousin, and friend to many. Preceded in death by beloved husband Stuart Bernard, maternal and paternal grandparents, as well as several other family members and friends.
Melisa loved adventures and the great outdoors: hiking, geocaching, gardening. She was an advocate for birds, bees and trees not only in her personal life but also in her profession of mapping for environmental consulting. And did we mention rocks? Yes, she loved geology. Her smile and laugh will continue to brighten rooms through the legacy she left behind, and even from above. Be at peace Missy. You are loved and missed now and forever.

My sissy, she was the best sissy ever.
Beautiful, inside and out.
My idol. Always an inspiration.
She was my sunshine.
She was a warrior.
She handled this journey with the utmost grace. As with her life. An amazing grace she was.
I will forever cherish all our moments and memories-so many and all so great.
I will love her..forever.
I will miss her..forever.
I thank her..for everything.
She made a big difference in so many lives. Always helping and accepting others. So caring, kind, and selfless.
Always up for an adventure.
Her legacy will live on through her beautiful son Parker and all her knew and loved her.
My heart is forever broken but a special place for her will remain until my journey here is over and we meet again.

Melisa is my daughter. Melisa will be remembered till we meet again in Heaven. My heart is broken because she is the best Mom to her 5 yr old son Parker & the best wife to her husband & friend Garrett. She will be missed. I love you Missy, Mom
