Melissa Ann Brooks was born on February 22, 1979, to Georgia Ann Carson and the late Lonnie Carson. She was educated in the Saint Lucie County School system. Melissa, then, furthered her education in nursing school and obtained a Nursing Certificate. She brought joy to the many residents she attended to in nursing homes, the patients in hospitals, and in her clients for private home care. She really had a heart for people, doing her best to help out wherever was needed. Melissa also was an impeccable home keeper. She enjoyed trying new recipes, laughing and having a great time, her fashion, but most of all, doing street ministry with the late Pastor Michelle Thomas.

Left to cherish her precious memories are her husband: Previs Brooks, Sr.; children: Bernisha Horne, Sarah Youman, Tamya Youman, Ronald Jr., Jaitorien Brooks, Jamarr (Kai) Brooks. Moriah Bankston, Willie Bankston, Jr.; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and sorrowing friends who will miss her dearly.
