It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Melissa (Missy or MiMi) Lynn Luther, a beloved mother, daughter, and friend. Born on August 16, 1978, in Kansas, Melissa touched the lives of many throughout her journey. She found her home in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she spent her days bringing smiles to the faces of those she encountered in her role in retail sales and customer service. Melissa had a full life in the short time she had here, she loved the beach, cooking, coloring, animals, country music (and Tupac), history, Halloween (where she always dressed up no matter her age). Melissa's greatest joy was her daughter, whom she loved spending time with. She was a fighter. She lived a hard but beautiful life.

Melissa had a fierce spirit and an unparalleled love for her daughter, her miracle baby, Alexius Luther, who brought her indescribable joy. She left behind a legacy of kindness and resilience that will always be remembered by her family and friends. In addition to her daughter Lexie (Fiancé Landon Morgan); she is also survived by her beloved aunt, Mikki Fox; cousin, Tonie Jameson; her best friends, Jessie, Jenny, Tim, Robert; her best friend's children, who she loved as her own, Harley, Hannah, KK, Kensie, Jacob.

Sadly, Melissa departed this world on October 3, 2025. Following her wishes, her remains will be cremated, and a gathering to celebrate her life will be planned for a later date. We invite family and friends to join us in remembering Melissa's warmth and the love she shared.

Details about the memorial service will be announced soon, and we hope everyone who knew and loved her can join us in honoring her memory and the impact she had on our lives. Your thoughts and prayers are appreciated during this difficult time.

Rest in peace, Melissa. You will be deeply missed.

Melissa was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Linda Luther; her daughter's father, Douglas Watts; her best friend, Troy Colman.
