Melvin "White" Borras passed away on April 17, 2025. Loving husband of Rena Adams Borras. Beloved father of Gwendolyn Ohmer (Randy), Chris Borras and Glenn Borras. Preceded in death by sons Brent, Melvin Jr. and Bryan Borras. Stepfather of Jessie Sanders Jr. (Farah) and Bobby Sanders (Jeanne). Grandfather of Misty Grantham, Brad Ohmer, April Borras, Jamie Borras, Chad Borras, Kaycee Donnaud, Jordin Borras, Joshua Borras, Emma Borras and the late Devon Jones. He also leaves behind a host of great-grandchildren. Son of the late Cora Cooper Borras Roubion and Clarence Borras. Stepson of the late Ludwick Roubion. Melvin was born in New Orleans and lived in Westwego his entire life. He was employed at Avondale Shipyard for 33 years, retiring in 1991. He was a commercial and sport fisherman who loved being on the water. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, family and many friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the Chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at 1:30 PM. Interment Holy Sanctified Cemetery in Westwego, LA. Visitation will be held from 11 AM until service time.
