Melvin J Patmore

It is with heavy hearts that we share that Melvin J. Patmore passed away at Solaris Healthcare on March 25, 2025, at the age of 84. Melvin is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth (Meehan) Patmore and their five sons and their wives, Russell J. (Patty), Douglas J. (Kristy), Bryan J. (Donna), Gregory J. (Tara), and Eric J. (Cathy). Also surviving are his 'Sweet Sixteen' grandchildren. Sean Patrick, Ryan, Liam, Kylie, Shea, Douglas, Chelsea, Landon, Mollie, Bryan, Caiden, Ian, Noah, Brody, Brielle, and Rylen. His littlest angel, Emma Shea, is waiting with open arms to greet him in heaven. Also surviving are his three great grandchildren, Savannah, Theo James, and Cal Brooks.
He is predeceased by his parents, Russell and Anna Patmore and a sister, Jean McDevitt (Charlie)
Surviving are sisters Anne (Larry) Tosato of NJ and Martha (Edward) Strauss of Venice, Fl.
Mel graduated from St. Peter's College in Jersey City and worked at JC Penney's corporate office in NYC where he retired after 30 years followed by a second career with the Monmouth County Tax Board in Freehold, NJ.
He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, and in his younger years, served as Commissioner for the Boy Scouts as well as a Board Member for the Freehold Soccer League. Mel coached many of his sons' baseball and soccer teams throughout their childhood years. He enjoyed bowling in a competitive league and was a Founding Member for the annual JCP golf outing. He was a family man first and foremost his entire life.
