Mr. Melvin Dean Scott Sr., 66, entered into rest on Wednesday August 6, 2025 surrounded by his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lee Roy and Dorothy Scott; brother, Lee Roy Scott Jr.; sisters, Nora Gonzales, Peggy Call; and Wanda Alumbaugh.
He is survived by his daughter, Casey (Shane) Welcher; son, Melvin Scott Jr.; brother Jamie (Wendy) Scott; grandchildren, Ethan Welcher, Melvin Scott III, Leeland Scott, Clayton Scott, Cameron Scott, Shane Welcher Jr., Aden Welcher; great grandson, Richard Shane Welcher; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Melvin retired from the Graniteville Company as a fixer after many years of service. He enjoyed spending his time fishing, working on cars, and watching his westerns. More than anything he loved his family. He will be remembered for being a loving father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend.
The family will receive friends at Jackson Memorial Funeral Home on Saturday August 23, 2025 from 1 P.M. to 3 P.M.
