Melvina Vernonia Board, affectionately known as "Auntie," by her nieces and nephews, departed this life on November 4, 2025, at her residence. She was born on April 14, 1958, to the late James Edward Board, Sr., and Laura Belle Board.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, James Lamont Griffin; sister-in-law, Tracey Board; and three nieces, Lacole Board, Alexius Board, and Sandra Morgan.

Melvina was a loving and devoted sister, auntie, family member, and friend. She loved everyone and never met a stranger. She greeted everyone she encountered with a warm smile and would do anything she could to help anyone. She especially loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them, creating everlasting memories. Her nieces and nephews held a special place in her heart. She enjoyed babysitting them, taking them to fairs, sporting events, and cheer practices. She thought she was a cheerleader, and she was their number one cheerleader. She also enjoyed assisting them with their homework assignments; she would tell them, "You're gonna teach Auntie."

Those left to cherish her memory are her brothers, James, Alvin, Austin, and Brian (Nicole) Board; her sisters, Rita (Sam) Wimbush and Tonya Board; her companion, Donald Robbins; nieces and nephews, Jaylen Board, James (Tina) Saunders, Travis Williams and Shanickwa Williams, Aiisha (Ramon) McGeorge, and Alvin (Kayla) Board, Jr.
