Merari Heavenly Marie Leonhardt, a vibrant young spirit, graced the world with her presence on March 14, 2023, in Charlotte, NC. With her infectious smile and a personality that lit up every room, she quickly became a cherished presence to all who had the honor of knowing her. Tragically, this beautiful little girl left us far too soon on Friday, May 2, 2025, also in Charlotte.
In her brief time, Merari showcased a joyful zest for life. She found immense pleasure in playing with her toys, often accompanied by her beloved brother, Ayden Leonhardt. Their bond was a testament to the love and laughter kids can share, illuminating their household with happy memories. Merari was also an avid fan of Ms. Rachel, captivating her heart and imagination as she danced and sang along with the show.
Merari brought love and joy to everyone she met, especially her home health nurses who loved her beyond measure. She was a superstar at Levine Children's Hospital where she was affectionately known as Merari Ferrari.
Merari is survived by her devoted mother, Reanna Baker, who nurtured her with boundless love, and her grandfather, Arthur Baker, who offered wisdom and support. She is also remembered fondly by her uncle and aunt, AJ and Kayleigh Baker, who will carry her memory in their hearts forever.
Welcoming her into eternal rest are her father, David Joseph Leonhardt, and her grandmother, Donna Baker, both of whom have now embraced her in a love everlasting.
Though Merari's time on earth was fleeting, the joy she brought to those around her will not be forgotten. Her memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of her loving family and friends.
Memorial donations in Merari's name may be made to the Spina Bifida Association of the Carolinas by clicking DONATE.
