In Loving Memory of Meri Catherine Hopple
Meri Catherine Hopple, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2024, in Bakersfield, California, at the age of 64. Born on December 23, 1960, in Las Vegas, Nevada, Meri’s life was one of resilience, joy, and unwavering love.
Meri’s journey began with remarkable strength, surviving multiple emergency surgeries before the age of four—a testament to her indomitable spirit. A proud graduate of Bakersfield High School, she pursued higher education at Chico State, where her love for learning was evident.
Meri’s greatest joy came from her family. She is survived by her two sons, Edward Roberts (35) and Ryan Roberts (32), her cherished daughter-in-law, Danielle Roberts (34), and her two adored granddaughters, Brooks (5) and Brady (3), who were the light of her life.
A woman of many talents, Meri had a passion for competitive swimming, gardening, and baking decadent desserts. She mastered the grill, turning out perfect steaks, and never missed a chance to enjoy a round of video poker. Her playful nature shone through in her love for giving thoughtful gifts, telling the occasional inappropriate joke, and indulging in her favorite Starbucks caramel macchiato.
Meri’s vibrant personality left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her radiant smile and infectious laughter could light up any room, and her warm, loving nature made those around her feel truly special. She had a gift for embracing life’s simple joys, and she loved and lived unapologetically.
Meri will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who were fortunate to know her. Her legacy of love, laughter, and resilience will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
