Waterville - MSgt. Merland A. Clark (USAF Ret.) passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Oak Grove Center in Waterville, ME at the age of 94.
Merland was born in Brooks, ME on March 23, 1931, the son of Daniel and Martha (Hubbard) Clark.
He was avid outdoorsman with a passion for hunting and love of fishing from a young age. He joined the United States Air Force in 1948 and served two decorated tours in Vietnam as an Air Traffic Controller. Additionally, he was stationed in Thule, Greenland and The Azores as well as several places throughout the United States. He retired from the USAF in 1974 and worked in a variety of jobs in Presque Isle, Maine before fully retiring.
Merland was predeceased by his wife Charlene (Somers) Clark and his daughters Virginia Anderson of Lilliwaup, WA and Cheryl Mattson of Las Vegas, NV. He is survived by his sons David Clark of Marlborough, MA and Robert Clark of Houston, TX as well as his grandchildren Heather Carnes, Michael Anderson and Matthew Clark and great grandchildren Ethan and Leon Anderson.
Friends and family are invited to make a donation in honor of Merland to Disabled American Veterans at DAV.org.
