Merle Allen Mikell

Merle Mikell, aged 82, peacefully passed away on August 31, 2024, ready to reunite with his father, Jack, and his longtime partner, Mary, in heaven. Born with a spirit deeply connected to the outdoors, Merle lived a life full of adventure, love, and dedication to his family and friends.Merle was the proud father of two sons, Scott and Tom, who carry on his legacy of love for nature and the outdoors. He was a devoted grandfather to four grandchildren, Megan, Tyler, Campbell and Carli, and a cherished great-grandfather to four great-grandchildren, all of whom he adored. He loved tractor rides and swinging with them, while teaching them to feed deer and squirrels.An Army veteran, Merle served his country with honor and brought the discipline and camaraderie he learned in the service into every aspect of his life. But it was in the woods where Merle truly felt at home, whether he was hunting, hiking, or simply being surrounded by nature. His love for the outdoors was something he eagerly shared with his family and friends, creating lasting memories for everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.Merle was a man of strong faith and deep love, always ready with a kind word and a helping hand. He was content with the life he lived and was at peace as he prepared to journey to the next life, where he looked forward to a joyous reunion with those who went before him.He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and a passion for life that will be remembered by all who knew him. Merle will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.Rest in peace Dad.
