Merlin B. Mueller, age 93, of rural Fond du Lac "St. Peter", passed away at his home on Monday, January 12, 2026.
He was born January 22, 1932, in Charlesburg to Walter & Lucille (Freund) Mueller. Merlin attended St. Charles Catholic Grade School and graduated from New Holstein High School in 1950.
On January 3, 1953, he married Ruth Mueller at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Marytown. Ruth preceded him in death on December 6, 2024.
Merlin and his wife and family farmed in the Town of Marshfield near Wolf Lake. Merlin & Ruth retired from the farm in 2002.
Merlin & Ruth were former members of Holy Cross Catholic Church. When they moved to St. Peter in 1995, they joined Holy Family Parish in St. Peter.
Merlin was a life-long dairy farmer. He enjoyed being on the board of directors at Farmer's & Merchants Bank in Marytown as well as M&I Bank in New Holstein. He was lifetime member of the New Holstein FFA Alumni and a member of the Brothertown Fishing Club.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his five children, Wayne (Linda) Mueller of rural St. Cloud, Ann (Wayne) Daun of rural New Holstein "Marytown", Karen (Jack) Gundert of Malone, James (Darlene) Mueller of rural St. Cloud, and Daniel (Cheryl) Mueller of
The Villages, FL; nine grandchildren, Kelly (Phil) Schmitz, Stephanie (Jeff) Schweitzer, Tracy (Nick) Lisowe, Michael (Sarah) Gundert, Timothy (Sarah) Gundert, Jason (Christa) Mueller, Jodi (Alan) Yurk, Lisa (Deric) Boone, and Gregg Gerke; 17 great grandchildren; his sisters, Judy Schmitz and Shirley (John) Pickart; his brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Donald Mueller, Carol Kaiser, and Leo (Mary) Mueller. He is further survived by nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Ruth; his parents, Walter & Lucille Mueller; his sisters, Elaine (Elmer) Mertens and Johanna (Joe) Weber; his father-in-law & mother-in-law, William & Estella Mueller; his brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Dorothy Mueller and Donald Kaiser.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at the Sippel Funeral Home, 2618 Altona Avenue,
New Holstein, WI 53061.
Visitation: Family and friends may visit with Merlin's family at the Sippel Funeral Home in New Holstein on Wednesday morning, January 21st from 9:00 AM until 11:15 AM. Burial will take place in the St. Charles Catholic Cemetery in Charlesburg.
Merlin's family is truly grateful for the in-home care givers with Home Instead that took care of their parents these past years and the hospice staff with Aurora at Home. Your care and compassion given to Merlin was more than appreciated.
