Roger Petersen Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sippel Funeral Home - New Holstein on Feb. 11, 2026.
Roger V. Petersen, age 81, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 6, 2026, at Oakwood Manor in Oshkosh, where he had resided for the past three years. Born on October 23, 1944, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to Vern and Norma Petersen, Roger grew up with a dedicated work ethic and a love for the outdoors.

Roger proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and Reserves before building a life centered on family and service. On February 4, 1967, he married the love of his life, Annette Clements. Together, they built a beautiful legacy until her passing in 2014. Roger was a man of many talents; he served as a part-time officer for the Saukville Police Department, spent many years with Blue Cross & Blue Shield, and eventually retired from Wells Fargo.

A true hobbyist, Roger found joy in the details-whether he was meticulously building model cars and ships, expanding his coin collection, or losing himself in a good novel. He was happiest when the wind caught the sails of his catamaran on Long Lake or when he was hosting loved ones at his "camp up North."

His memory will be cherished by his children, Keith (Miriam) Petersen, Kristina (Wayne) Katerski, and Kevin (Tracy) Petersen; his six grandchildren, Ally, Avery, Jessy, Annamarie, Katie, and Lillian; and four great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Matthew, Annette, and Baelfire, who brought him great pride. He is also survived by his brother, Jim (Andrea) Petersen, and a large circle of extended family and friends. Roger was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Annette; his parents, Vern and Norma Petersen; and his brother, Robert (Marge) Petersen.

The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the teams at Oakwood Manor and Moments Hospice for their compassionate care. Per Roger's wishes, a private burial will follow cremation.
