Merry Ellen Hemphill Gosling

Merry Ellen Hemphill Gosling, 69, a lifelong resident of Wellington, died Sunday, November 16, 2025 at Keystone Pointe Nursing Home. Born on January 7, 1956, she was the daughter of the late William and Esther (nee Kruger) Hemphill. Merry Ellen was a 1974 graduate of Wellington High School and attended The Ohio State University.

Merry Ellen worked as a medical secretary in the Wellington area for many years. She later worked at Westwood Elementary as a paraprofessional until her retirement. Merry Ellen was a longtime Girl Scout leader in the area as well as a softball coach. She enjoyed following and attending sports games for the Browns, Indians and Cavs. Along with her husband Jim, she attended many craft shows and managed a crafting business, Scrolling Along, for 27 years. Merry Ellen loved to stay busy and when she wasn't occupied around town, she enjoyed traveling, especially her trips to Vegas.

Merry Ellen is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Gosling, whom she was with since 1976, and 5 siblings.

Friends and family will be received on Wednesday November 19, from 5-8 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main Street, Wellington. A graveside service will be held Thursday at Greenwood Cemetery beginning at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed the Wellington First United Methodist Church, 127 Park Place, Wellington, 44090.
