Merwyn Gregory Burroughs JR., Passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at his residence with his family by his side. He was born on December 9, 1934, in
Kissimmee, Florida, the son of Merwyn Gregory Burroughs Sr. and Ruby Elease Tyson.
He was descended from pioneer families who settled in Central Florida to raise cattle in the area once called Orlando Island-now formally known as Boggy Creek, near East Lake Toho.
He was a long-time devoted member of Lake Whippoorwill Baptist Church and more recently a member of FBC Pine Castle. His greatest joy in life was hearing of his children and grandchildren coming to faith in Jesus Christ. He loved the Lord, his family and friends, and his country.
He served in the naval reserves for 8 years and retired from the Orange County school system after 13 years.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Marie Burroughs; his children, June (Victor) Garrison, Teresa (Brad) Blackman, Joseph (Lori) Burroughs, Michael (Sherry) Burroughs and Barbara (Lynn) Houser; and his sister, Elease (John) Cook.
He was preceded in death by his children, Tina Burroughs, Brenda Burroughs, and Mark Burroughs; his parents, Merwyn Gregory Burroughs Sr. and Ruby E. Burroughs; and his brother, George Burroughs.
He has been blessed with a multitude of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Greg will be 5:00 P.M. TO 7:00 P.M. Thursday, October 23, 2025, at the Roger C. Thompson Memorial Chapel, Conrad & Thompson Funeral Home, 511 Emmett Street,
Kissimmee, Florida 34741.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 25, 2025, at East Lake Cemetery, Boggy Creek Road,
Kissimmee, Florida, with the Reverend Allan Kozy, Officiating. Active casketbearers: Greg Garrison, Wesley Burroughs, Chas Burroughs, John Burroughs, Joshua Ingram, Mason Barca and Kenny Austin.
