Mery Johanna Amaya passed away on February 10th, 2022. She was only 40 years old. She was born February 19, 1981 in Bogota, Colombia. Mery immigrated to the U.S. with her parents and her brother. Mery studied at Paterson public school number 9 and graduated from JFK High School where she met her husband Omar Zapata. Together Mery and Omar raised two beautiful babies, Angel and Arianna Zapata. Mery received her associates from Passaic Community College all while being a mother and working fulltime. Mery adored her children, loved her husband and was ever attentive to the needs of her parents. She was the first to lend a helping hand to her friends in need. She touched the hearts of us all. She was assertive, passionate, and kind. She was our queen!
Visiting will be Tuesday February 15th from 5:00pm-9:00pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton with a funeral service will be held during the visitation. Private cremation to follow. Please visit www.bizubquinlan.com for driving directions and to leave online condolences to Mery's family on the Tribute Wall of her obituary page.
