Anderson Gonzalez, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and pastor, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his wife, all his children, their spouses, and his grandchildren on August 18, 2025, in Hackensack, New Jersey. Born on October 4, 1943, in the lush mountains of Utuado, Puerto Rico, Anderson's life was a testament to his unwavering faith and the joy he found in serving others.

Anderson's journey began in the heart of Puerto Rico, where he was born into a large and boisterous family. His early years on the family farm instilled in him a deep appreciation for nature and the simple pleasures of life. At the age of 17, he embarked on a new chapter, immigrating to Long Island, NY. The bustling city became his new home, and it was there that he met and married the first of the two great loves of his life, Julia Vasquez. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, welcoming their children Lillian, Marilyn, and Luisa into the world.

Unfortunately, Julia passed away in 1985 following a battle with illness, and in 1986 Anderson, never having lost his faith in love, met and married the second of the two greatest loves of his life, Nydia Esther Tapia. Shortly after, they completed their loving family with the additions of another beautiful daughter, Jasmine, and a healthy baby boy, Anderson Jr.

A man of profound faith, Anderson dedicated 60 years of his life to ministry, serving as the pastor of several churches between New York and New Jersey, with his final ministry at Manantial de Vida in New York City. His wisdom, humor, and faith-filled spirit touched the lives of countless individuals, guiding them through life's challenges and joys. Anderson's legacy as a spiritual leader will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Anderson's artistic soul shone brightly through his love of drawing horses, playing Puerto Rico's traditional guitar, el cuatro, and singing his favorite hymns. His talents were a reflection of his upbringing on the farm and brought great joy to his family and friends. His laughter and wise counsel will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Nydia; his daughters, Lillian Lopez and her husband Miguel, Marilyn Gonzalez and her late husband Juan Antonio Ortiz, Luisa Gonzalez, and Jasmine Vargas and her husband Nelson; his son, Anderson Gonzalez, Jr. and his wife Leslie Diaz; his five grandchildren, Jordan and Julia Lora, Rachel Lopez, and Theo and Cash Vargas; his cherished great-grandchild, Luna Hood; his sisters, Carmen Silvia, Deidy, Olga, and Aurea Gonzalez; his brother, Rafael Irizarry, Jr.; and the numerous nieces and nephews who adored their uncle.

Anderson was predeceased by one brother and eleven sisters, whose memories he held close to his heart throughout his life. His family takes comfort in knowing that he is now reunited with them in eternal peace.

As we bid farewell to Anderson Gonzalez, we celebrate a life well-lived, marked by devotion to family, faith, and community. His legacy will continue to inspire and guide us, and his memory will forever be a beacon of light in the lives of those he loved. Anderson's life story is one of resilience, love, and unwavering faith, and he will be profoundly missed by all who were blessed to know him.

Visitation will be held Monday, August 25, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton, NJ 07013.
