Rev. Meyer Nolan Sanders went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 21, 2025. He lived a life wholly devoted to God, family, and ministry. Meyer was born in Kennett, Missouri to the late James Virgil and Jewel Dean Bolden Sanders.
He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Roberta V. Sanders; children: Keith Nolan Sanders (Beverly), Robin Gail Waldman (Steve), Alicia Gay Lorge, and Shawn Eric Sanders (Patricia); grandchildren: Ryan Sanders, Olivia Patterson, Kristen Lorge; step grandchildren: Christopher Mills, Stacy Sanders, David Hilburn, and Dustin Champion; greatgrandchildren: Gavin Patterson, Evelyn Rose Patterson, Grayson Patterson and Finnegan Sanders; siblings; Marjorie Irene Sanders, James Leslie Sanders, Thomas Daniel Sanders, Bonnie Mae Sanders, and Virgil Lewis Sanders; and numerous nieces and nephews . Meyer was preceded by brother, Edmund Dewalin Sanders; three sisters: Jerris Gail Sanders, Genotra Ann Sanders, and Elvondia Carol Sanders.
Meyer was honored to have served in the United States Army, following his military service, he spent more than 60 years in ministry with the United Pentecostal Church International (UPCI). Throughout his years in ministry, he faithfully served in three churches: United Pentecostal Church in O’Fallon Missouri, Pacific Lighthouse Church in Pacific, Missouri and First United Pentecostal Church in Theodore, Alabama and serving wherever the Lord led him.
He was a proud member of National Society of the Sons of the American revolution.
He was a man deeply rooted in the Word of God, reading the Bible daily and living by the truth of Scripture. Meyer had a heart for souls and was always looking for opportunities to start or help build a church, believing firmly in the great commission and the power of the Gospel. His life reflected his love for the Lord “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” (Matthew 25:21)
The family will be receiving friends prior to service from 10:00 AM-10:45 AM, Monday, December 29, 2025, followed by the funeral service at The Pentecostal Spartanburg Church, 561 Upper Valley Falls Rd, Boiling Springs, SC 29316. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Larry Wilks. Burial will be in Westwood Memorial Gardens, 6101 Reidville Rd., Moore, SC 29369.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Pentecostal Spartanburg Church.
