Mia Brooks Zimpelman, 22, Rochester, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025, in Fulton County. Born May 3, 2002, in Rochester, Indiana, she was the daughter of Dalea Fay Brooks Zimpelman. She was a 2020 graduate of Caston High School. She worked at CVS in Rochester.
Mia loved family game nights, taking her brothers to arcades, floating the river, country drives listening to music, nature walks with her dog’s, crafting & thrift store shopping with her best friends, traveling & seeing new places with her Mamaw, reading in her hammock, and catching the family up on her favorite TV shows. As a family, together the entire Zimpelman clan just became Komets hockey fans and had been enjoying going to watch their games together. Mia loved spoiling her friends & family any way she could.
Mia was like a second mom to her brothers. From a young age, she took great pride in taking care of them and watching them succeed. She reprimanded them when they needed reprimanded and praised them when they deserved praised. That didn’t change as they got older. At sixteen and eighteen-years-old, she was still a very big part in their day to day lives & their biggest fan.
Survivors include her mother, Dalea Zimpelman, Rochester; grandmother, Nancy Williams (Dale Pier), Peru; two brothers, Gage and Owen Zimpelman, Rochester; uncle, Derek “Duke” Brooks, Peru; great grandfather, Dallas Williams, Peru; dogs, Murphy & Willy; giant tortoise, Delphine
