Michael Joseph Anderson, 62, passed away on December 9, 2024, in Melcher-Dallas, Iowa. A visitation will be held on Monday, December 16, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Melcher-Dallas. A funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at the funeral home.
Mike was born in Des Moines, Iowa on March 22, 1962, to Donald Joseph and Lenore (Frueh) Anderson. He was the second of nine children. Mike grew up in the Melcher-Dallas area and attended Melcher-Dallas High School. After high school, Mike joined the United States Marine Corps. During his time in the service, he was sent to many different parts of the world. Mike took immense pride in his service to his country. In 1990, his son, Shaun Michael Anderson was born.
Mike loved to hunt, fish, and search for artifacts. One of his favorite activities was road tripping with his son and his dog, Skeeter. He was also a loyal Iowa Hawkeye fan. Mike will be missed by those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Shaun (Heather) Anderson; grandchildren, Zoey and Halen; mother, Lenore (Kenneth) Seuferer; siblings: Mary Jo (Rick) Kuhl, Cathy Gross, Richard Anderson, Theresa (Ron) Nine, David Anderson, Donnie Anderson, Julie Anderson-Akkerman, and Chris Anderson; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Mike was preceded by his father, Donald Joseph Anderson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mike's name may be directed to his son, Shaun Anderson.
