Michael Argust, beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully in his home in Layton, Utah, on May 5, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was 69 years old. Michael’s life was defined by faith, hard work, and a deep devotion to those he loved.

Born on August 7, 1955, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Charlotte (Argust) Moeser and Eugene Argust, Michael spent his youth in Southern California. He graduated from West High School in Torrance in 1973 and attended Ricks College before faithfully serving a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Chihuahua, Mexico Mission from 1975 to 1977. His mission left a lasting imprint on his life and was a reflection of his strong faith and love for others.

Michael had a vibrant passion for life, especially when it came to athletics. He loved playing basketball and volleyball and found joy and peace in fishing and serving those around him. He also really loved getting together with family and friends often. Hosting others in his home brought him joy.

He went on to earn a degree in accounting from California State University, Chico, and was known professionally and personally as a man of integrity and intelligence. Whether at work, church, or at home, Michael gave his all.

On October 25, 1980, Michael married his eternal sweetheart, Calleen Argust, in the Los Angeles California Temple. They were married for 44 years and together they raised seven children: Charity Olsen (Chris), Janean Davis (Mark), Celeste Jeppesen (Kimball), James Argust, Kristy LeBlanc (Gunnar), Jared Argust, and Cambrie Argust.

He was a proud and loving grandfather to Alex, Erika and Reid Olsen; Christian, Nixon, Crew, and Trey Davis; Griffin and Logan Jeppesen; and Ryder LeBlanc. His grandchildren brought him immense joy.

Michael is also survived by his siblings Charlene Kennicutt (Dan), Tonya Argust (Stephen), Richard Argust, Debbie Argust, Michelle Martin (Bill), Eugene Argust Jr. (Kelly), Christina Raun (Eric), and Jillene Argust.

Michael will be remembered for his great love for his family and a desire to see them successful and happy.

Though our hearts are heavy, we are filled with gratitude for the life he lived and the legacy he leaves behind.

We love you, Michael. You will be in our hearts forever. Until we meet again.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday May 10, 2025 at 11:00 AM at 2455 N Valley View Dr. Layton, Utah.
