Michael Antonio Barnes was born on October 22, 1960, in Newark, New Jersey, to the late William A. Barnes and Mary E. Barnes. As the 'first of seven children, Michael's early years were filled with love and family in Roselle, NJ. He attended Locust School and Abraham Clark High School, graduating in 1978. He later pursued higher education at Jersey City State College, majoring in graphic arts.

Michael dedicated over 20 years of his life working as a Production Manager at Scientific Packaging in East Orange, NJ. Afterward, he continued his career at Pesticide Extermination Company, affectionately known as "the bug man" by many.

On November 14, 1992, Michael married Fredrica Richardson, and together they built a family of six children: Giovanna Ethridge, La Tonia Richardson, Devon Van Ness, Isaiah Barnes, Brianna Barnes, and Jasmine Barnes. A devoted father, Michael was known for his love, support, and pride in his children. He was especially delighted when his grandchildren arrived, often joyfully exclaiming, "Can you believe we are grandparents, you getting old?"

A fun-loving, family-oriented man, Michael enjoyed cooking and was renowned for his mouthwatering roast beef and meatloaf. His grilling skills earned him the nickname "the grill master," and he found joy in sharing his culinary creations with family and friends. An enthusiast of house music, Michael was a remarkable dancer who loved to hit the dance floor and was often the first on and last off.

Michael's heart of gold and generous spirit touched many lives. He leaves behind his beloved wife Fredrica, daughters Giovanna, La Tonia, Brianna, and Jasmine, and sons Isaiah and Devon. His cherished grandchildren-Maya, Nathan, Madison, Adonis, and Ares-brought him immense happiness.

He is survived by six siblings: Alesia (Ron) Wilson, Jerome (Angie) Barnes, Donniee, Nikita, Zakiyyah, and Bibianne (Robert) Damas, along with a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family, and friends.

Michael's legacy of love, laughter, and devotion will be deeply missed but forever cherished.
