Michael Richard Barry

Michael Richard Barry passed away on December 19, 2025, at the age of 79. Michael was a devoted husband, Dad, Grandpa, Great-Grandpa, Uncle, Brother, and Friend. Everyone who knew him would describe him as a hard-working man who loved his family very much.
He was born and raised in Indiana. After high school, Michael served his country in the Air Force and then pursued a lifelong career at Monsanto. On February 7, 1970, he married the love of his life, Sandra Cayton Sanders. Together, they raised a wonderful family, traveled across the country, and nurtured a love that would last for 55 years.
Michael is survived by his beautiful wife, Sandra, his children Dawn Sanders Birkenheuer (Mike), Matthew Barry (Debbie Bardonaro), and Ryan Barry (Monica). He was also a very proud Grandpa to Derek Birkenheuer (Christine), Brad Barry (Ally), Mia Barry, Brock Barry, and Chloe Barry. He was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Brady and Bonnie Birkenheuer. Michael is also survived by his siblings, JoAnn Barry Werner (Huey), Tom Barry (Cecile), James Barry, Delores Barry Gaines, and David Barry (Margaret); sister-in-law: Nancy Cayton and many nieces and nephews.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Edgar Barry; Brothers-in-law: Tommy Gaines, Burrell "Buzz" Cayton and James McQueary; Sisters-in-law: Betty McQueary and Joan Barry.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at the VFW in Harrison, Ohio, located at 9160 Lawrenceburg Road, Harrison, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. A story of his life will be shared with all guests at 2:00 pm. A military burial will take place at a later date.
Michael will be deeply missed but remembered for his strong work ethic, strength, devotion to his wife and family, love for his country, and his incredible sense of humor.
