Michael Bartholomew Obituary
Michael A. "Mike" Bartholomew, 66, of Jonesboro, passed away at his home at 4:05 am on Friday, December 5, 2025. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on Tuesday, June 30, 1959, to Robert and JoAnn (Russell) Bartholomew.
Mike graduated from John Marshall High School in Indianapolis in 1977 and later completed his union ironworkers apprenticeship. He was a foreman with Ironworkers local #22 and Local Union #147. Mike loved to play guitar, leading praise and worship for Upland Christian Center as a member of the band Wrestling Jacob. He traveled to churches throughout the state and took great pride in spreading his music. He most recently played bass guitar for Rock of Elders. Besides playing guitar, Mike also liked golfing and riding his Harley.
Mike is survived by his sons, Jason (Denise Davis) Voland of Nixa, MO, Justin Bartholomew of Jonesboro; daughter, Janelle Dilts of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Hannah Keenan, Caleb Voland, Sophie Voland, Kaeli Bartholomew, Kloei Bartholomew, Natalie Bartholomew, Emmett Bartholomew, Tyler Dilts, Jordin Columbus, Gage Dilts; 4 great-grandchildren; siblings, Robert (Judy Ward) Bartholomew, Sherryl (Jerry) Gaines, Steven (Gina) Bartholomew, David (Deana) Bartholomew, Paul (Missy) Bartholomew; as well as his former wife, Debra Bartholomew; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and his beloved dog, Millie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert William and JoAnn Bartholomew.
Michael's family will host a celebration of his life at a later date.
Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
