Charles Gray Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service - Storey Chapel from Jan. 19 to Jan. 20, 2026.
Charles D. Gray, Jr.

May 8, 1958 ~ January 17, 2026

Charles D. Gray, Jr., 67, of Gas City, passed away in his home on Saturday, January 17, 2026. He was born in Toledo, Ohio, on Thursday, May 8, 1958, to Charles and Rita (Wagner) Gray.

Charles graduated from Bradford Central Christian High School and attended Gannon University. He loved shooting and a good motorcycle ride. At home, he was all about his cats; he adopted several over the years and spoiled every one of them. He could cook like nobody's business and had real talent as an artist too. He was the fun uncle who joked around with his nieces and nephews and always had them laughing. His friends and co workers loved him, not just because he was a good guy, but because he could tell a story better than just about anyone. He liked puttering around in the yard, messing with his garden, and hauling rocks up from the river just because it made him happy. He lived simply, laughed easily, and was loved more than he ever knew.

Charles is survived by his siblings, Thomas (Wendy) Gray, James (Lisa) Gray, Yvonne (Ron) Tiller, Joe (Wendy) Gray, Bev (Todd) Hertzfeld, Barb (Rex) Aranyosi; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles David and Rita I. Gray, Sr.; and his sister, Brenda (Thomas) Glover.

At the family's request, there will be no public visitation or funeral service.

Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the D.A.V. Bldg. #185, Rm. A119 1700 E. 38th St., Marion, IN 46953.
