Michael J. Bastian

Michael J. Bastian, 63, of Tomah, died Saturday, September 17, 2022 at the Serenity House in Tomah. He was born December 12, 1958 to George and June (Will) Bastian in Pottsville, PA. He grew up out east. A friend invited him to come to visit Tomah and that's where he moved. This is where he met his true love, Dawn Wildes. They were united in marriage on January 14, 1996, at Dawn's sister's home near Oakdale. She preceded him in death on February 19, 2019. Michael enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially on the North Side of Lake Tomah. He also enjoyed his many house plants. He worked for Toro for many years and worked at Ocean Spray during the cranberry harvest. He had a dear sidekick in his dog, Annie. He will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved him.
He is survived by his grandchildren, Onalea, Adrianna, and Steven, a great-grandchild, Armani, 5 sisters-in-law Sharon (Radar) Matt of Phoenix, AZ, Denise (Mike) Hoppe of Glendale, AZ, Cindy (Phillip) Puent of Oakdale, Jill (Brock) Larson of Camp Douglas, Dianne of New Lisbon, a brother-in-law John Majerus of Stoddard, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a stepdaughter Heather, and stepson Daniel, a brother-in-law Allan, and sister-in-law Connie Majerus.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, September 26, 2022, at 5:00 P.M. at the Bible Ev. Free Lutheran Church, 625 W. Veterans St. Tomah. Pastor Neil Nelson will officiate. Burial will be at a later date.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday from 4:30 P.M. until the time of the service.
