Michael J. Bauer, 75, of the Town of Ulster, NY, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Health Alliance Hospital - Mary's Ave Campus in Kingston, NY. He was born on December 6, 1948, in Kingston, NY, son of the late Christian P. Bauer and Teresa (Amarello) Bauer. He married his loving wife of 55 years, Carol (Combs) Bauer, on November 30, 1969.
Michael was a class of 1968 graduate of Kingston High School. He worked for Kingston City Schools for 31 years as a Skilled Mechanic. He was a life member of the Ulster Hose Company No. 5, where he had served as a Fire Commissioner. Michael was also the former President of the CSEA Union. He was an avid hunter and devoted Buffalo Bills fan. He enjoyed motorsports and loved spending summers with his family at Fish Creek Ponds in the Adirondacks.
Michael is survived by his spouse, Carol Bauer, his children, Cori Allen of Hurley, and Christian Bauer and his wife Hollis of Guilderland, NY, his grandchildren, Brynn E. Allen, Mason Michael Allen, and Isla A. Bauer, his siblings, Christine Millham, Dawn Stewart, and Henry Miller and his wife Ellen, as well as many nieces, nephews, and other dear family members and friends. In addition to his parents, Michael is predeceased by his sister, Margaret Bauer, and his sister-in-laws, Linda Combs Akins and Linda D. Combs.
Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY, 12401, where family and friends may visit on Sunday, November 3, 2024, from 1pm to 4pm. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 4, 2024, at 11am. Inurnment will follow in the Wiltwyck Cemetery, Kingston, NY.
