Obituary of Michael P Belanger
Michael Peter Belanger, 83 years old, of Carver Ma., formerly of Braintree, Ma. passed away on March 30, 2025. He was born October 13, 1941 in Queens, Ny to Lucinda (Alves) Belanger shortly before the family moved to Braintree. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary (Reynolds) Belanger, daughters Laura Belanger and her husband Joe Jewett, Nicole (Belanger) Kirwan and her husband Chris Kirwan. Mike is also survived by his granddaughter Abigail Belanger and her companion Cody Tustin and grandson Michael Kirwan and his sisters Claudia Hayward and her husband Ron, and Sarah Loveday. He is predeceased by his sisters Edna Wallace, Barbara Sarno and brothers Jack, Leon, Alan and Robert Belanger. Mike maintained close relationships with his sisters-in-law Rose (Reynolds) Lannon, Inga Reynolds, and Barbara Belanger as well as his many nieces and nephews.
Mike served in the National Guard for 8 years and worked for New England Telephone company for 40 years. He served as a coach and director in the Braintree Girls Softball Little League, was a past president of the Braintree Kiwanis club and a 25 year volunteer for My Brothers Keeper in Easton, MA. He enjoyed travelling the world with his wife. Mike was an avid golfer and enjoyed going to baseball games, especially the Cape Cod League while also volunteering for multiple organizations. Above all else, Mike enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Calling hours for Michael will be held on Satuday, April 5th from 9 to 10:30am at the Shepherd Funeral Home located at 116 Main St. in Carver. A funeral service will follow at the Saint Kateri Church on South Meadow Rd. in Plymouth at 11am.
