Michael John Besozzi, 71, of Uhrichsville, passed away suddenly at his home of an apparent heart attack on Saturday, December 30, 2023. Born March 21, 1952 in Dennison, he was a son of the late Donald John and Martha Irene (Kilpatrick) Besozzi.
Mike was a lifelong Twin City resident and a 1970 graduate of St. Mary's High School in Dennison. He was employed as a mechanic by Consol Energy for many years, but – a true entrepreneur at heart – he owned and operated many small businesses over the years, including Besozzi's Drive-Thru in Dennison. He may be most remembered for his prowess as a weightlifter and bodybuilder, having been a past Mr. Tuscarawas County who competed in many bodybuilding tournaments, including Mr. Ohio. Mike was also an avid hunter, and his parties held each year the night before deer season opened will be missed by his many hunting buddies.
He leaves behind his dear friend and former spouse, Vickie (Tolloty) Besozzi; children, Lori (Brad) Pulley and Doug (Leslie) Besozzi; grandchildren, Ava and Jenna Pulley, and Brooks and Brynn Besozzi; brother, Steve Besozzi; sister, Donna (Robert, deceased) Starkey; several nieces and nephews; and a host of close friends.
According to Mike's wishes, cremation is planned without a public visitation. There will be a celebration of his life planned at the home in the near future. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
