Michael Kelly Binstead was welcomed into heaven on December 17, 2023.
Michael was a man of deep faith, a proud Irishman and the loving son of the late Mary Kelly Binstead. He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Rose (Bolger), his two daughters who he loved dearly, Christina (Thomas) Kozeniewski, Jennifer (Joseph) Lerario, and his four grandchildren, Connor, Ryan, Joey, Emma, with another one on the way, as well as his in-laws, many nieces, nephews and countless friends. He was pre-deceased by his brother Jack Binstead (BetteAnn) and brother-in-law Robert E. Bolger, Jr.
After meeting in 1978 in Avalon, NJ, Rose knew immediately that Michael was the love of her life based on the love and devotion he always showered on his mother and beloved Aunt Kak. Michael was so proud of his two daughters and wonderful sons-in-law, as well as his four beautiful grandchildren. "Poppy" was always the go-to babysitter and never missed an opportunity to spend time with his grandchildren. Despite his well-known lack of patience, he ultimately showed the deepest love and devotion to all of them. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. Michael also loved his 'fur boys', Seamus and Flynn.
Michael always knew how to light up the room with his quick wit and 'filter-free' humor. Michael and Rose loved being in Avalon where he enjoyed solving the world's problems on the deck overlooking the bay or at Locust Lake by the fireplace. Michael loved entertaining and made sure everyone always had a cocktail in their hand and loved sitting outside on his "asphalt" beach listening to Jimmy Buffett and drinking his wine.
