Linda Binstead, age 73, of Griggsville, Il. died early Friday (December 8, 2023) at her residence.
She was born July 23, 1950, in Griggsville, Il. daughter of the late Merle Garrett, Jr. and Anna Maxine Phillips Garrett.
She married Charles "Charlie" Binstead Jr. on July 27, 1970, in Griggsville, Il. and he survives.
Also surviving are daughters, Stacy McIntire (John) Pittsfield, Il. and Nikki Huddleston (Jason) of New Salem, Il.; a son, Chuck Binstead III (Lyndsey) of Mackinaw, Il.; five grandchildren, Morgan Beard (Austin) of Pittsfield, Il., Jadon Huddleston of New Salem, Il., Jacob McIntire of Pittsfield, Il., and Charlee and Chase Binstead of MacKinaw, Il.; great-grandchildren, Garrett and Madelyn Beard; siblings, Shirley Ward, and Betty Gail Miller both of Griggsville, Il. and Billy Garrett of Mt. Sterling, Il.; a sister in laws, Patti Binstead of Roodhouse, Il and Diane Shaw of Griggsville, Il..; a great-aunt, Jeanette Pollard of Bunker Hill, Il.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Vicki Harris, Kathy Grady, John David "Buckshot" Garrett, Phil "Little Buckshot" Garrett and a brother Merle Edward in infancy.
Linda was a graduate of Griggsville High School and attended beauty school in Quincy. Most recently she was a past employee of County Market in Pittsfield, Il. She was a member of the Griggsville Nazarene Church, and Griggsville Legion Auxiliary. Linda loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday (December 12, 2023) at Airsman-Hires Chapel in Griggsville, Il. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery near Griggsville, Il. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel Cemetery, Griggsville Nazarene Church or G/P Athletic Boosters all c/o Airsman-Hires Chapel, Box 513, Pittsfield, Il. 62363.
