Michael Wayne Bogan, age 81 of Neenah passed away on Saturday December 14, 2024 at the Wisconsin Veteran's Home in King after a lengthy illness. Mike was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 10, 1943 son of the late Wayne and Doris (Wilson) Bogan. He graduated from Appleton High School and then enlisted in the U.S. Army. After his honorable discharge from the Army, he was united in marriage to Carol Long on January 4, 1964 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Neenah. After retiring from a career in sales Mike had a lawn cutting and snow removal business. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events and loved music and going to concerts with Carol. Mike also enjoyed wildlife, nature and watching the birds, having many bird feeders in the yard. He took great pride in never missing a deer while deer hunting.
Mike is survived by his wife, Carol of 61 years; his children: Christine Gerald, David Bogan, Michael Bogan and Mark (Jessica) Bogan; his grandchildren: Matthew (Allison) Gerald, Ashley (Brian) Brochman, Megan (Nick) Mocco, Ellinor Bogan, Olivia (Drew) Lauterborn, Samuel, Ian and Mara Bogan; and 9 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his sisters: Ellen (Tom) Taplin, Kathy (Bruce) Huelsbeck, Jean (Jim) Piette; his in-laws: Judy (Tom) Schoepel, Dennis (Patti) Long and Tim (Sarah) Long; and his three sisters-in-law: Marcee Bogan, Kathy Bogan, and Peggy Bogan.
Mike was preceded in death by his daughter Kathy, a grandson Kyle and his brothers: Peter, Alan, Dan, Pat and John.
Memorial services for Mike will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at the Kessler Fahrenkrug Funeral Home 304 S. Commercial Street, Neenah. A memorial gathering will be from 3:00 p.m. until the time of services. Military Honor will be conducted by the Neenah-Menasha Funeral Honors Team following services, followed by a dinner in the Generations Room at the funeral home.
