Michael Boyer Obituary

AUSTINTOWN - Michael Dante Boyer, 63, passed away on Thursday afternoon, June 19, 2025, at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland.


Michael was born on April 10, 1962, in Youngstown, a son of Norris and Janet Boyer. Michael was a 1980 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School.

He was a carpenter and skilled craftsman.


Michael enjoyed spending time with his sons, Frederick and Isaac, wife Lisa, and his German Shepard, Thunder. He had many hobbies over the years. He enjoyed learning new things, always including his sons and teaching them. He was an amateur radio operator and amateur astronomer. He enjoyed target shooting and working in his workshop. He built most of the furniture in his home, and passed many of those carpentry skills down to his sons. He was a member of the Mahoning Valley Astronomical Society for many years. He was also a member of the Youngstown Rifle and Pistol Club. Michael’s intelligence, wisdom, witty humor, and loving presence will be missed by all that knew and loved him.


Michael will always be remembered by his wife of 39 years, Lisa Boyer of Austintown; his son, Frederick Boyer and his wife Anastasia of Austintown; his son, Isaac Boyer and his girlfriend Carissa of Austintown; his brother, Donny Boyer and wife Judy of Canfield; his sister, Carroll Cole of Boardman; his sister, Darleen Cahoon and husband Steve of Las Vegas, Nevada; Mother in law; Jane Auker of Marietta; Sister in law, Judy Short and husband Dave of Marietta Ohio; sister in law, Becky Auker of Marietta; life long friends, Jerry Allgren, Jim Allgren, Sam DiRocco, and Bob Leasure; his faithful German Shepard, Thunder; along with his nieces, nephews, cousins and many other friends.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Norris Boyer; mother, Janet Boyer; Brother Norris (Buster) Boyer; and Father in law, Michael Auker.

Family and friends may visit and pay tribute to Michael on Monday, June 23, 2025, from 10:00a.m. to 12:00p.m., at the Higgins Reardon Funeral Home, 4303 Mahoning Ave in Austintown, OH 44515. A funeral service will follow at 12:00p.m. at the funeral home.

Arrangements were handled by Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel.
