With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Michael Antoine Braddock, age 84, of Cherryville, who departed this world on Monday, May 13, 2024, at Peak Resources. Born on September 27, 1939, in Jacksonville, Florida, to the late Clifton Clyde and Elizabeth Paracca Braddock.
Michael, or simply "Mike" to those who knew him best, lived a life filled with simple pleasures and boundless love. He was a devoted husband to his late wife, Shirley Katherine Neal Braddock, and a cherished father to his children: Eric Michael Braddock (Adrienne), Mary Beth Thompson (Cris), and Sarah Neal Farley (Shannon). His legacy lives on through his cherished grandchildren: D.J. Caswell (Katelyn), Katie Beth Harrison (Lee), Michael Caswell (Hope), and Nathanael Thompson. Great-grandchildren, Stella, Haddon, Neally, Knox, Judson, and Merrit Caswell. Aubree, Mason, and Oliver Harrison. Braddock and Dove Caswell. Special friend to the family Kelly Hancock. He leaves behind 3 precious pets Shorty, Jazzy, and Dancer.
Most of Mike's career was spent in the world of parking management, from the bustling streets of Atlanta, Georgia, to the sunny avenues of Jacksonville, Florida. Eventually, he became a proud business owner in Uptown Charlotte, leaving a mark of hard work and dedication wherever he went. In his leisure time, Mike found solace in the simplicity of yard work and the satisfaction of detailing his cars, a passion he happily extended to his grandchildren's vehicles. While he didn't boast a long list of hobbies, he found joy in wetting a line early Saturday morning in Georgia trout streams and indulging his sweet tooth with his wife's famous pound cake or any candy within arm's reach. But beyond his hobbies and career, Mike will be remembered most for his Christian Faith and boundless generosity, his unwavering kindness, and the grace he extended to everyone he met. His smile could light up a room, and his open heart welcomed both two-legged and four-legged friends in need of a home.
In accordance with his wishes, a private Celebration of Life will be held to honor and remember the remarkable life of Mike Braddock.
