Born January 6, 1964 in Greensburg, he was a son of Donna L. (Shank) Casterwiler of Latrobe and the late Thomas C. Brannigan.
Michael had been employed at Packo Industries, Latrobe in his fields of drafting and mechanical engineering. He had a brilliant mind and loved sharing his knowledge and thoughts on his YouTube Channel, "everybodyseye." He will be remembered for his humor and as being a loving son, father, partner, and an excellent grandfather.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Paul R. Casterwiler.
Along with his mother, Michael is survived by two children, Loretta Cork (Brandon) and Michael P. Brannigan Jr. (Erica); a step-daughter, Deanna Sanford; his siblings, Thomas Brannigan (Victoria), Becky Duff (Jack), and Mark Brannigan (Robin); six grandchildren, Landon (Elizabeth), Noah, Aiden, Elijah, Connor, and Kara; his life partner, Janet Sanford; several nephews, and many friends who knew him as "Crazy Mike."
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Thursday at the Lopatich-Brinker Funeral Home, LLC, 601 Weldon Street, Latrobe. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
