Michael Shawn Branum

Lubbock, TX - Michael Shawn Branum, a beloved son, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2026, at the age of 45. Born on December 20, 1980, in Lubbock, TX, Michael lived a life full of passion, dedication, and resilience.

A proud graduate of Coronado High School and Texas Tech University, Michael earned his Bachelor's Degree in business and embarked on a successful career as an insurance agent. He worked alongside his father at the Branum Insurance Agency, where he became a trusted advisor and a respected figure in the Lubbock community.

Michael was not only known for his professional accomplishments but also for his many talents. An accomplished athlete, he excelled in both baseball and football, showcasing his competitive spirit and teamwork from a young age. He received a baseball scholarship from Borger Junior College. In his leisure, he found joy in fishing and was a skilled billiard player, often captivating friends with his prowess at the pool table.

Michael is survived by his loving mother, Gail Branum; his devoted brother, Matt Branum; and his three cherished children, Caleb, Brooklyn, and Ethan Branum. His family was the center of his world, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

In honor of Michael's life, a memorial service will be held on January 31, 2026, at 10:30 AM at Sanders Memorial Chapel in Lubbock, TX. Friends, family, and all who knew Michael are invited to celebrate his remarkable life and the joyful memories he created. There will be a reception to follow from 1-3 at GolfSuites Lubbock.

Following the service, Michael will be laid to rest with dignity. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched, as well as in the stories that will be shared in his memory. He will be missed deeply, but his spirit will remain a guiding light for all who loved him.

May he rest in peace, surrounded by the love he so freely shared throughout his life.
