Michael Alan Brown, a man of great humor and kindness, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025, in Moreno Valley, California, at the age of 86. Born on July 24, 1939, in
Riverside, California, Michael's life was marked by his dedication to his family, his love for his beautiful wife Georgia (Sweet Georgia Brown as he called her), his passion for learning, and his commitment to serving his church.
Michael was a proud graduate of Poly High School in Riverside, after returning home from the Navy he furthered his education at UC Riverside, earning a Bachelor's degree that would serve as the foundation for a career dedicated to mentorship and rehabilitation. For 25 years, Michael worked as a Parole Agent for the Chino Boys Youth Authority in Chino, California. His colleagues affectionately dubbed him the "Gentle Giant," a testament to his imposing stature and his equally large capacity for compassion.
Outside of his professional life, Michael was an active participant in the arts and a lover of games. His melodious voice could be heard harmonizing in a quartet, with which he competed at the national level, bringing joy and entertainment to many. An avid reader, Michael's thirst for knowledge was insatiable, and his ability to recall information with ease impressed those around him. His playful spirit found a home in the world of live-action role-playing and the strategic intricacies of Dungeons & Dragons, where he forged lasting friendships and created countless memories.
Those who knew Michael will remember him as a good man, one who was intelligent, funny, sweet, kind, even-tempered, and patient. His pleasant demeanor and ready wit made him a beloved figure in his community and a source of light in the lives of his family and friends.
Michael's legacy is carried on by his cherished granddaughter, Valerie Roberts; his adored great-grandchildren, Kaitlynn and Izabella; and his treasured great-great-grandson, Vincent. His memory will also be held close by the numerous friends and colleagues whose lives he touched throughout his remarkable journey. Michael was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Georgia, his daughter, and his siblings, Nora and David. Their reunion is a comfort to those he leaves behind.
