Michael Andrew Bunting, age 69, died Friday, August 30, 2024.
Born January 2, 1955 at Little Rock, he was a son of the late Galen Bunting and Mildred Busby Bunting Oliver. He moved to Pine Bluff as a child and attended the Annunciation Academy. He graduated from Pine Bluff High School in 1974.
For many years, Mike worked as a truck driver and mechanic, working for Tyson Foods and retiring from C. C. Jones Trucking.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
His wife, Jesse Margaret Bunting, predeceased him on January 1, 2016. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Sonny Bunting, Chuck Bunting, and Mark Bunting; two sisters, Linda Bunting Spain and Cathy Bunting Benjamin; and his stepmother, Doris Bunting.
Survivors include his wife, Diana Smith; five sons, Brandon Bunting (Meagan), Shannon Bunting (Jessica), Noah Wiles, Timothy Cole (Lisa), and David Cole (Diana); two brothers, Gary Bunting (Regina) and Billy Bunting (Teresa); two sisters, Michele Sowa (Bobby) and Libby Bunting; grandchildren, Jacob Cole, Sarah Cole, Garrett Bunting, Gavin Bunting, Walker Bunting, Hayden Goodman, Grace Murphy, and Nathaniel Murphy; great-grandchildren, Alayna Michelle Bowers, Wyatt Allen Bowers, and Bradley Miller; and a number of nieces and nephews.
There will be a Funeral Mass on Thursday, September 5, 2024, 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Joseph Marconi and Deacon Noel F. "Bud" Bryant officiating. A private family burial will be in Fitzhugh Cemetery.
A Vigil Service will be held Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. followed by visitation beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Fuller Hale-South Funeral Chapel.
