Michael Wyatt Byers

Michael Wyatt Byers, 65, passed away Thursday morning, Jan. 23, 2025, after a brief battle with leukemia. 

Mike was born March 12, 1959, in Torrance, California, to Wyatt and Betty Mae (Langley) Byers.

When he was a child, Mike and his family moved to Logan, Ohio, where he graduated from high school and met the mother of his daughters, Tammy (Newman) Potts. In his early 30s, he met and fell in love with his soulmate, Tina Woods, who he would marry on October 26, 1996, and cherish until his death.

Mike enjoyed sports, particularly the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns, and in his final years, he developed an interest in fitness and shopping.

Mike is survived and will be deeply missed by his wife of 28 years Tina Byers; children Katie (Marge) Byers, Sarah (Amy) Cordell, and Preston Byers; grandchildren Foster, Dylan, Harper, and Henry; siblings Doug (Cheryl) Byers, Chuck (Elaine) Byers, and Belinda (Bruce) Bardall; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents and mother-in-law Annie (Konkler) Djupstrom.

Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 31, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Northeast Chapel, 3047 E Dublin Granville Rd, Columbus, Ohio 43213.
