Michael Wayne Canafax, 63, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 30, 2025, with his loving family by his side. Michael was born on March 18, 1962, in Olive Hill, Kentucky to the late Wayne J. and Geraldine Phelps Canafax. During his working days, he was employed as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator for several years, he was nothing short of a hard worker. Michael was an outgoing man. He never knew a stranger and was a dear friend to everyone he ever knew. He loved his family; he will be greatly missed by all of those who knew him.

Michael will be lovingly remembered by his two sons, Michael (Tiffany) Canafax and Danny (Temre) Canafax; his daughter, Kayla (DavidAllen) Cannon; his three brothers, Ricky (Kim) Canafax, Lee Canafax and Raymond Canafax; his two sisters, Edith Southworth and Carol Johnson; nine grandchildren, Jacob Callahan, Mason Callahan, Braelynn Canafax, Harper Canafax, Isaiah Canafax, Hayden Canafax, DavidAllen Cannon, Hunter Cannon and Noah Cannon; and the mother of his children, Blanche Alcorn.

Michael was preceded in his passing by his parents and one brother, Jeff Canafax.

A visitation will be held, Thursday, September 4th, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Tucker, Yocum and Wilson Funeral Home, followed by a memorial service at 6:00 PM officiated by Luke Vanhoose.

In Lieu of Flowers, the family requested donations to be made to the funeral home to help pay for the expenses in his passing.

Friends and family are encouraged to leave messages of condolences and memories here on Michael's Tribute Wall.
